Srimathi Krishnaveni Lakshmanan
A direct disciple of Rukmini Devi Arundale, Smt Krishnaveni also trained under S. Sarada, Sarada Hoffman and N.S Jayalakshmi of Kalakshera. As one of the star performers of Kalakshetra, Smt Krishnaveni played the lead roles in Kalakshetra dance dramas as Sita in the six - part ' Ramayana', Usha in ' Usha Parinayam', Andal in 'Andal Charithiram, Radha in 'Gita Govidham', Rukmini in ' Rukmini Kalyanam ', and Vasanthavalli in ' Kutrala Kuravanji' among others. Many lead characters of Kalakshetra's dance dramas were choreographed on her by Rukmini Devi.
A B.A music degree holder as well, Smt Krishnaveni has had 50 years of association with Kalakshetra. She was Principal of Kalakshetra Foundation from 1997 to 2000. The veteran dancer has also choregraphed 20 dance dramas with her performing group ' Krishnanjali'. Widely travelled she was a recipent of prestigious awards like the UNESCO medal, Sangeet Natak Akademi award, Kalaimamani, Nrithya Choodamani and the Rukmini Devi Medal.

Sri C. V Chandrashekar
Prof C. V. Chandrasekhar has dedicated his life to the teaching and performing of dance for over five decades. After serving at the university of Baroda, as Head of the Department of Dance and Dean of Faculty of performing Arts, Sri Chandrasekhar now based in Chennai, India, is the most sought after Guru among senior dancers in the field. Scholar, dancer,composer, choreographer, gifted teacher and an exemplary human being.
Sri Chandrasekhar has composed a number of dance ballets during the course of his illustrious career in both Carnatic and North Indian styles of music. Prof. C.V. Chandrasekhar is a recipient of the Sangeet Natak Akademi Award for Bharathanatyam, Nada Brahmam Award by Narada Gana Sabha an award traditionally awarded primarily to musicians. In 2011 he was honoured with the title Padma Bushan by the Government of India.
